In the face of increasingly fierce business competition caused by the rapid economic development, people attach more and more importance to protecting their creativity. To guarantee a secure investment circumstance, expand both domestic and international business, develop business under franchise, and avoid unfair competition as well as counterfeit products and inferior services,   UAE governments are intensifying their supervision on IPR protection. On March 6^th, Ajman China Mall, organized a lecture jointly with Ajman Department of Economic Development and Ajman Free Zone on risks of breach of intellectual property law and commercial fraud, with over 100 entrepreneurs and employees from Ajman China Mall present.  Mr. Matani , person in charge of rental and inspection department of Ajman Free Zone, Mr. Hassan Ali , manager of Department of Combating Commercial Fraud from Ajman Department of Economic Development, and Mr. Yue Yingchun, vice-general manager of Ajman China Mall attended the lecture.
 

The lawyer, Mr. Rafid, was invited by Ajman Department of Economic Development as the lecturer to illustrate why intelligent property should be protected from three aspects. First of all, from the economic level, counterfeit and shoddy products may result in severe risks to the economic development of all countries as well as the whole world. Tax evasion in such businesses will cause more unfair competition, increase more unemployment, affect the reputation of quality goods, and also damage the national economy. Secondly, from the legal perspective, the manufacturing of counterfeit products is usually associated with series of crime like fraudulent activities, money laundering and employing child and under-age labors. Thirdly, from the aspect of health, major safety hazards exist in counterfeit products since they are not supervised by relevant authorities such as governments, the Ministry of Health and telecommunication administrations, so there is no necessary guarantee in food products and electronic products. The lecture helped the audience better understand the intelligent property protection. During interactive section, audiences actively proposed questions to discuss existing problems in IPR with the lecturer. In the end, the leaders and guests from Department of Economic Development and Ajman Free Zone sent gifts to the entrepreneurs, communicated with them on their state of business and proposed advices.
